point in time, it is for this function that the alarm clock was created, but this is not the only ability it has as it can also be a reminder to do something at a particular point in time unrelated to waking up in the morning.
The alarm clock can be the best friend of the light sleeper, for as soon as the alarm sounds there is an almost immediate occurrence of the sleeper’s rest being disturbed enough to allow them the self-control to remove themselves from a state of deep sleep, or do such before the rest becomes a deep sleep. Most of the time the alarm clock happens to be a morning reminder, in order for one who needs to work early can do so, but this is where we happen to take our little bedside devices for granted most by hitting the all-too-convenient snooze button for the purposes of extending rest longer.
Some alarm clocks that work on a mechanical principle happen to have an alternate or analog hand besides the hour and minute that works as a trigger for the alarm to sound, it is this that makes it a nifty convenience for us to own, but with some of the more classical alarm clocks this can be a little bit of a hassle to shut off in a state of distressed sleepiness. That is why such innovations of the alarm clock have been made leading to the digital alarm clock, and the efficiency of the alarm clock becoming a priority, though also leading to the creation of the aforementioned snooze button.
